We can avoid receiving emails from some members or ban some members but we cannot prevent the receipt of email from a particular email address when the mailing group is set to able to receive email from the general public.
How do I stop the receipt of email from someone when my mailing group is set to receive email from the public?
Set your group to moderate all members. You would have to approve all messages being sent to your group. When you receive the next message from that particular email address, you would see which member is actually sending it and ban him/her. Give it a little time then change the setting back to however you please.
Otherwise, change your group from public to restricted. Here's how to do that:
1. Click "Management" in the left hand navigation bar (note that this link will only appear if you are the owner of the group or a moderator with the appropriate privileges).
2. Under the "Group Settings" section in the upper right, click "Membership"
3. Click the "Edit" link next to "Membership Type %26amp; Welcome Message"
4. Choose "Restricted" next to "Membership Type"
5. Click the "Save Changes" button.
Reply:you have to make it only from group members to post, then ban that person. I had the same problem

Yahoo email address and group email?
On my groups anyone with a yahoo email address who posts is not being individually sent to members. We can find what they have posted on the group site, but it does not show up in our mailboxes with the rest of the posts. Anyone know how to fix this?
Yahoo email address and group email?
Its not an easy fix. Groups have several email settings that can be adjusted any time by: Member, Moderator, Owner. Including No Mail, Digest, Special announcments only or All Messages. Let alone a member changing email address at random.
Yahoo Email settings vary: Check Blocks, Spam settings, Get in Address Book, Possibly Bulk Folder delivery.
Yahoo Mail Servers: Sometimes = On time, Blocking, Bouncing, Late delivery, Wrong email address, etc.
Now add all this up and we have to equate to that.

Email sent to yahoo group does not show up.?
I am member of a yahoo group. I receive emails from them and have web access to that group. I have never emailed that alias until today and I sent the message from my email 15 mins ago, I still do not see it show up in my email or on the web. What happened ?
To post a message to this group should I have posted it from the group's website instead of emailing it to the group alias ?
Email sent to yahoo group does not show up.?
I don't know that this is an answer but we are having the same problem. Any messages posted have to be approved but even when I approve the messages - it is taking anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours for the message to show up in the list of messages.
I would post the problem here - you can do access the form from the Yahoo groups Blog page - http://www.ygroupsblog.com/
Good luck.. we all need it with the problems Yahoo has these days.

Reply:you may be on post moderaton, which would require the owner to approve the post prior to it going to the group. you wont know if you're moderated or not unless you post from the group. when you hit send from there, the next page load states "pending approval".
there is also a chance that group could be experiencing a server delay, either on your e-mails end or Yahoo's.
your first step probably would be contacting the group owner for some amswers

if you didn't join the group, then some one added you and you have the option to report that. it's against TOS to add people w/o permission.
abuse form. at least for the time being, in those posts at the bottom is a setting to change mail delivery, and to leave the group- I'd try those link and if it doesn't work, include that tot he form below, that you cant stop the posts or leave the group

Reply:At the bottom of each message is the way to get out of the group. Send an empty message to;
groupname-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
That usually works. Sometimes it does not and you have to go to the group site (also at the bottom of every message) find your email address and click on the delete.
Reply:You could block the emails from the group.Click options top right of your mail box then click block addresses. enter the email address in the appropriate place and click add block.

Not receiving Group email that I send?
When I post to my groups I no longer get the message that I sent to the group. and I don't see it on the groups home site either, So it is not going thru to the group I checked and I am not bouncing?
Not receiving Group email that I send?
Some peoples Group Messages have to be approved by Moderator. Also you should be using the ID that is setup to post messages.

Is there a group website that allows members to use any email address?
With Yahoo Groups, group members are required to create a Yahoo account in order to access the group pages. I want to set up a group where the members with any email address (e.g., hotmail.com, gmail.com, cox.net) to be a group member with full access.
Is there a group website that allows members to use any email address?
Yes, all Yahoo groups do. In order to join a Yahoo groups, one must register for a Yahoo account.. A Yahoo email address is automatically included with registration but it does not have to be used. An alternate email address can be added to the account, selected as the primary email address, and verified. Then when the person joins one or more Yahoo group(s), the primary email address would be used, not the Yahoo address. The primary email address can be with whatever email service the person wants to use such as hotmail, gmail, cox, etc.
Reply:you'd have to get your own domain for that. most free user sites require membership if you want full access.
if the member ignores the yahoo ID and account, and doesn't log in within so much time, it's deleted and then creates issues for that member. a member needs the ID to log onto the group

Do I have to be a member of a Yahoo Group to send email to the group?
I am a teacher that needs to send an email to a group of parents (for example, "parents@yahoogroups.com"). Do I need to be a member of this group first, or will everyone on the group receive an email I send regardless of whether I am a member of that group?
I'm not sure of the group's "moderation settings"...
Do I have to be a member of a Yahoo Group to send email to the group?
most groups you have to be a member in order to post, or many many groups would be full of spam. some groups allow non members to post. if you attempt to send an e-mail, and it comes back, means you must join the group in order to post
